Obituary

Stanley Allen Melvin, age 64, sadly left us on April 1st, 2024 following his battle with AML Leukemia. He grew up in Hamden and attended Hamden Public Schools. Stanley was a resident of Spotsylvania, Virginia at the time of his passing. He was retired from the Texas Department of Corrections. He also served his country with the U.S. Army for 30 years, retiring as Master Sargent. Stanley leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Kelvin (Julyssa) Melvin and Sergio (Chloe) Carpio; daughter Robbyn (Patrick) Turner; beloved mother Naomi Melvin; brothers, James Clayton (Loretta) Melvin and Michael A. Melvin; sister, Darlene Dash (John); 10 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and family members. Preceding him in death was his father, James Melvin; sister, Tanya D. Melvin, and his daughter, Melissa Melvin.
Relatives and friends may greet his family on Friday, April 12th at 8:30 AM with Funeral Service following at 10:00 AM at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden CT.
