Obituary

BRISTOL - Steven J. Hallock, Sr., 54, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of Deborah Plante Hallock. Born in Southington on March 18, 1951, he was the son of Dorothy Bogucki Hallock of Meriden and the late Alson D. Hallock, Jr. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Machinist Mate on the U.S.S. George Washington Nuclear Submarine. He was employed as a truck driver for the J. P. Express Company and was a member of American Legion Post #45. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steven J. and Jessica Hallock, Jr. of Bristol; a brother, Bruce Hallock of Meriden; two sisters, Valerie Borak of Meriden and Alyson Broekstra of Plantsville; a granddaughter, Sierrah Hallock of Meriden; and an aunt, Jeanette Darmofalski of Virginia. He was loved and will be missed by six nieces and two nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joanne Benjamin. The funeral will be held Thursday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. at the Beecher & Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meiden. The Rev. Isaac Calichicco will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. prior to the service.
