Suzanne D. Etter (Susie) 63 of Harwinton CT, formerly of Hamden, CT, passed away at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital on January 28, 2004, after a brief illness. Susie was born October 31, 1940 in New Haven, CT and was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Harold Demond. She was the beloved wife of Herbert H. Etter. In addition to her husband, Susie is survived by her step-sons, Stephen, William, David, Thomas and John Etter and her daughters-in-law, Karlee, Sheree, Deirdre, Joanne and Mary. She will be missed by her thirteen devoted grandchildren and numerous friends, including childhood friend Marsha Hilditch. Susie was a graduate of Emerson College in Boston. Following graduation she moved to California where she was chief operating room nurse at Redwood General Hospital. Susie was an accomplished horsewoman and loved to ride. She particularly enjoyed introducing children to the sport. A memorial mass, to celebrate Susie's life, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, at the intersection of routes 4 and 118, in Harwinton, CT.
