Suzanne Kunkel Dorsett, age 75, of Orange, went home to be with her Lord on October 31, 2009 at CT Hospice, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 14, 1934 in Carlisle, PA to the late G. Bearden and Elizabeth Kronenberg Kunkel. Sue is survived by Leonard Dorsett, her husband of 53 years, three sons, George Dorsett and his wife Elizabeth of Barrington, NH, Michael Dorsett of South Hadley, MA, Jonathan Dorsett of Somerville, MA and by a loving extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by a son Matthew Dorsett and by her sister Elizabeth Shover. Sue was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Woodbridge for many years. She sang in church choirs and other groups from the age of twelve and enjoyed singing in Trinity Church's choir as well as their Christmas Concerts over the years. While living in Alliance, OH she sang in the Community Chorus. Over the years, Sue enjoyed volunteering with the American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, Hospice in Maine and Connecticut, and in nursing homes in communities where she lived. She volunteered at Trinity Church as a Deaconess, choir member, leader of small group Bible studies, the Greeter program, and was involved in prayer ministry. Sue lived her faith with joy and was an inspiration to many. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 7th at 10 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Free Church, 33 Center Rd., Woodbridge. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden. Burial will be private.
