Sven "Swede" Rudolph Waldemar Ljunggren, 85, of North Branford died September 22, 2007. He was the loving husband of 60 years to Harriet Olson Ljunggren. Born in Vaxjo, Sweden on August 9, 1922 to the late Hilding and Selma Ljunggren. Sven was very proud of his time served as an Aviation Machinist Mate in the US Navy during WWII. He later worked for Avco Lycoming in experimental engineering as Senior Test Technician. He was a long time member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Vasa Order of America in New Haven, and Masonic order Annawon Lodge of West Haven. Besides the love of his life, Sven leaves his children, Sue Ljunggren Clarke and her husband J. Thomas of Greenville, SC, and Paul W. Ljunggren and his wife Barbara of North Haven. Grandchildren Wendy Clarke Pfrenger and her husband Andrew, Daniel and Katherine Clarke, and Christian and Jillian Ljunggren. Great-grandchildren Gwendolyn and Elsa Pfrenger. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 11a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church, 305 St Ronan St. New Haven. BEECHER & BENNETT 2300 Whitney Ave. Hamden in care of arrangments.
