Orange- Sylvia M. Kirby, 85, devoted wife of 62 years of Albert T. Kirby of Longmeadow Rd., passed away August 22, 2005. Mrs. Kirby was born in New Haven a daughter of the late Francis and Cecelia Sebeste Standorf and resided in Orange for many years. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband during his years as a captian for TWA. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Patricia Jones and her husband, Rob Jones of Westford, MA, Peter Kirby and his wife, Julie Kirby of Fairfield, CT, Albert Kirby, Jr. and his wife, Penny Kirby of Vero Beach, FL, her loving grandchildren, Albert & Melissa Kirby, Alyson, Meghan and Kevin Jones, Stephanie & Peter Kirby. She was predeceased by three brothers, Frank, Theodore, and John Standorf. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thursday, August 25, at 10:15 a, m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in Holy Infant Church, Racebrook Rd., Orange at 11 a.m. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. Burial in Orange Center Cemetery.
