Meriden - Theodore 'Ted' C. DePaola Sr., 74 husband of 51 years to Gail (Sawyer) DePaola died on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Alzheimer's Resource Center in Plantsville. He was born January 8, 1936 in Bronx, NY a son of the late Theodore and Lillian (Blaich) DePaola. He graduated from Wilcox Technical High School and the University of Hartford. He proudly served his country in the U.S.Army, and was a draftsman for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft until his retirement. Ted was an avid bowler, golfer and member of Hunter's Golf Club as well a Mason with the Meridian Lodge #77 AF & AM and the North Italian Club. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church where he had been an acolyte and a member of the vestry. In addition to his wife Gail, he is survived by a daughter; Debra and her husband David Cooper of Wendell, N.Carolina, three sons, Theodore DePaola Jr. and his wife Heidi of Southbury, CT and Gary and Raymond DePaola both of Meriden, three grandchildren, Christopher DePaola of Southbury and Douglas and Matthew Cooper both of N. Carolina. A funeral will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 9:00 am at Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden, with a service at 10:00am. The Rev. Dr. Robert. M. Stocksdale will officiate and Ms. Diane Annelli will accompany as soloist. Burial with Military honors will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, May 27 from 4-8pm.
