Theodore Skopic, 74, of Hamden, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026.
Born in Ambler, Pennsylvania, Ted grew up in Brookfield, Connecticut, son of the late John and Vera F. Skopic. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Sivigny of North Haven, a nephew, Robert (Ericka) Sivigny of California, and three great-nieces and nephews.
Ted was a proud Navy veteran, having served on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. John F. Kennedy through most of his active duty. He served in the reserves for a time after his enlistment, and continued to participate in Connecticut VA activities throughout his life. He liked music, particularly classical music, and for as long as he was able, attended many New Haven Symphony concerts. He was also an avid baseball fan, and photographer. He was a long-time member of Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church. Ted will be missed by his family, and by the friends where he lived.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church, 285 Alden Ave., New Haven.
