Hamden- Thomas J. Christman, 50, loving husband of Debra Gunther Christman of Colony St. passed away suddenly at home May 7, 2004. Beloved father of Sandra Steigman and her husband, Todd Steigman, Cheryl Christman, and Stacy Christman all of Hamden, son of Jane McManus Christman of Va. Beach, VA and the late Arthur Christman, proud grandfather of Taylor & Madison Steigman, brother of Donna Christman of Norwalk, CT, Arthur Christman of FL and Teri Peterson of Va. Beach, VA. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was the owner of New England Lawn Service which he started in 1981. He also was a truck driver for various companies for over 27 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local # 443. Besides his family his other passion was his boat the ''Sandy IV'' in which he loved to spend time fishing with family and friends. He earned a degree as a Master Technician from OMC School, and was a member of the Indian Neck Yacht Club. Tom was totally devoted to his family, he leaves many friends with whom he shared great times and many memories. His motto for life was to ''live it large, live it good, because its all too short.'' Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Wednesday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Rita Church at 10 a.m. Firends may call Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be private.
