Thomas E. Clark, 94, husband of 65 years to the late Phyllis Pearson Clark, passed away on July 16, 2026. Born in Hartford on June 20, 1932, he was the son of the late James V. and Ann McNamara Clark. Tom grew up in Simsbury, CT and graduated from Trinity College. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, and worked as a Division Manager for SNET for many years. While at SNET, he earned his Master of Business Administration degree. After retiring from SNET, he worked another 20 years for H&R Block to keep busy. He is survived by his children, Jill Clark of Caldwell, NJ and Sally Funnell and her husband James Funnell, Jr. of Redding; grandchildren, Jessica Lipman, Chloe Lipman and her husband Benjamin Litchman, Charlotte Funnell, and James Funnell, III; and great-grandchildren, Frankie Rose Litchman, Sonny Bela Litchman, and Isa Rae Iñiguez-Lipman, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, James Vincent Clark and Maryann Clark Dauphinais.
Tom was a successful businessman whose passion for life extended far beyond his professional accomplishments. He found great joy in downhill skiing, sailing, and biking, embracing every opportunity for adventure and the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent camping with his grandchildren at Hammonasset Beach State Park, creating memories they will cherish forever. He loved gathering family and friends around his table for holiday dinners, often accompanied by the sounds of classical music playing softly in the background. He also enjoyed traveling and looked forward to the many cruises he took over the years. A man who truly lived life to the fullest, he was known for his warm smile, quick wit, and wonderfully dry sense of humor. His laughter, kindness, and love of family touched everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.
