Vella Agnes Warner Corey, 94, wife of the late Norman L. Corey passed away April 28, in Montowese Health Care after a long illness. She was born in Hamden August 18, 1906 a daughter of the late Everitt and Jennie Warner and had lived in Hamden for most of her life. She was co-proprieter with her husband of Corey's Nursery & Farm Market, and Corey Lumber Co. of Hamden, she attended Grace Episcopal Church, and was a member of the Dunbar Committee Club. She is survived by a daughter, Jean V. Higgins of Orange, a son, Leslie N. Corey of North Haven, a sister, Ethel Giering Foy, a brother, Richard Warner both of Hamden, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by two sisters, Edna Blanchard and Myrtle Corey, and two brothers, Roy and Milton E. Warner. Funeral service will be held at Grace & St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 2927 Dixwell Ave. Hamden, Wednesday May 2 at 11 AM. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT,2300 Whitney Ave., Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:30. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
