In Hamden, Oct. 23, 2001, Viola Mead Buchholz, 100, of Bassett St., West Haven, wife of the late Charles A. Buchholz. Mother of Helen Danehy of West Haven and Dorothy Karrel of Greenwich, CT, also survived by 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by a son, Charles Buchholz and a grandson, Randall Buchholz. She was born in New Haven, Aug. 16, 1901 daughter of the late George and Emily Young Mead. She had been Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Hawkins Convalescent Home of West Haven for 30 years. She was a member of Christ Church, West Haven and Excelsior Chapter - Order of Eastern Star of New Haven. Funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church, West Haven. Interment in Tabor Cemetery, Branford. Friends may call at BEECHER & BENNETT TAYLOR FUNERAL HOME, 410 Campbell Ave., at Court St., West Haven, Thursday morning from 9:30 - 10:30.
