Virginia Edwards Gilbert, 87, formerly of Gorham Ave., Hamden, passed away Tues., April 5, 2005 in Hamden, she was the wife of the late Alan D. Gilbert, mother of Alan D. Gilbert, Jr. of Hamden, David S. Gilbert of New Haven and Robert E. Gilbert of VA. Virginia was born in New Haven, March 3, 1918 daughter of the late Walter S. and Martha Furbish Edwards. She lived most of her life in Hamden and was a former Hamden Adult Education Instructor and former member of the Mt. Carmel Art Assoc. Furneral service will be graveside on Friday, April 8 at 10 a.m. in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Arrangements under the direction of BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT.
