Entered into rest, peacefully surrounded by her family, July 29, 2007, Virginia Mae Radziunas Godfrey, 80, of North Haven formerly of Hamden, wife of the late Edwin Godfrey and predeceased by her first husband, Anthony Radziunas, mother of Anthony J. Radziunas of Long Beach, CA, Atty. John A. Radziunas of New Haven, Linda Pepe and her husband, Gary of East Haven, Kathleen Gambardella and her husband, Ronald of Hamden, William J. Radziunas and his wife, Kathleen of Northford, Joyce Bowden-Radziunas of North Haven, Sherry Ann Radziunas of Hamden and David M. Radziunas of Hamden, grandmother of Christina Madonna and her husband, Steven, Lisa Pepe, Michael, Maria and Stephanie DeCristoforo, Sarah and Michelle Radziunas, Brian and Ryan Bowden and David, Jr. and Ashley Radziunas. She was predeceased by a son Joseph J. Radziunas in 1978, a brother, Edward Sullivan and a sister Evelyn Forgione. Virginia was born in New Haven, May 3, 1927, daughter of the late John W. and Helen Hayes Sullivan. She had worked for 30 years at the former Park Plaza Hotel in banquet and food preparation. She was an avid bowler and bingo player. Funeral from BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Thurs., Aug. 2 at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Stephen Church, Hamden at 10 a.m. Friends may call Wed. from 4 - 8 p.m. Interment in St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
