Virginia Abbott Shia Lovig, 76, of Bethany, CT passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Virginia was born in New Haven, CT to parents William and Yvonne Shia. Virginia earned a Masters and 6th year degree in education and dedicated her life to teaching students at all levels, including English as a Second Language. She was predeceased by her husband Douglas Lovig and son Justin Lovig. She leaves behind a sister, Yvonne (Robert) Klancko of Charlotte, NC; son, Andrew (Janell) Lovig of Farmington, CT; and son, Daniel (Kelly) Lovig of Venice, CA. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
