Walter G. Haines, 77, of Hamden, passed away on August 8, 2012 after a long illness. Born in Seymour on April 28, 1935 to the late Walter and Maude Arundell Haines. Walter is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Linda Kerby Haines; two sons, Ronald Haines and his wife Michelle of Milford and Douglas Haines of Hamden; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Vincent, Jayson, and Michael; brother, John Haines of Seymour. He was predeceased by a sister, Alanta Lucas. Walter grew up in Seymour and has lived in Hamden for the last 14 years. He had a passion for cars and for over 40 years he owned and operated Bridgeport Automatic Transmission. Friends are invited to visit with his family on Friday, August 10th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at BEECHER & BENNETT, 2300 Whitney Ave, Hamden. His Funeral Service will also take place on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
