SOUTHINGTON - Walter Frederick Michaelis, 90, of 241 Beechwood Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Bradley Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Emma Wall Michaelis. Born in Meriden on Dec. 3, 1911, he was the son of the late William and Wilhelmina Michaelis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been employed as a printer at the Waterbury Republican. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Meriden. He is survived by his wife and was predeceased by a brother, Lester Michaelis and two sisters, Dorothea Renn and Edna Limmer. Arrangements are under the direction of the Beecher and Bennett Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
