Obituary

Wilhelmina Morgan Conquest passed away on March 28, 2015. She was born in New Haven to the late William H. and Cora Hayes Morgan and lived in North Haven for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, George DeForest Conquest; siblings, Cora A. Wright, Jeanne B. Jones, and William H. Morgan, Jr. Wilhelmina graduated from Hillhouse High School and Southern Connecticut State College with a B.S., M.S. in Reading and 6th yr. Diploma in Administration-Supervision. She taught in the New Haven School System for thirty-five years. Wilhelmina was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma International, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, The Bella Tan Social and Anic Club, and the Hamden Women's Club. During her professional career she was given the Louise Williams Educational Service Award and was also presented with a Special Proclamation out of the Office of the Mayor of New Haven, citing her commitment to the educational needs of children. She leaves a host of relatives and friends. Friends are invited to visit with her family on Wednesday, April 1st at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave, New Haven from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Beaverdale Memorial Park directly after the service.
