Meriden- William E. Baierlein, 65, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at MidState Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Meriden and was pre-deceased by his mother and step-father Claudia (Armack) and Clifford Goodale and his father Harry Baierlein. William worked at Long Lane School in Middletown. After retiring from the State of CT, he spent most of his time outdoors hunting & fishing. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed taking his boat out fishing and clamming which earned him the nickname 'Captain Willie'. He is survived by his daughter and son-in law, Lisa and Robert Hilliard, grandchildren, Ashley and Joshua and two brothers, Gerald and John Goodale. A private celebration of life and burial at sea is planned with the family. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden have been entrusted with the arrangements.
