Frazier
November 4, 1931 – January 16, 2025
William Frazier, of Hamden, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 16, 2025. Born in Plattsburgh, NY, on November 4th, 1931, to the late George and Anna Krause Frazier. He was a proud graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY, where he earned his degree in electrical engineering.
William dedicated 40 years of his professional life to United Illuminating before retiring in 1994. Prior to starting his career and raising a family, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served his country with honor.
An avid sportsman and adventurer, William enjoyed a full and active life, spending time golfing, skiing, boating, and traveling across the country with his loved ones. He was an active volunteer for Hamden Youth Hockey Program, along with the Hamden Little League Baseball and Softball programs.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Mary of Auburn, NH, along with their children, Hannah and Lucas; his daughter and son-in-law, Ellyn Deborah Ferguson and Brian, of North Haven, CT; his sister, Minerva Taylor, and sister-in-law, Patricia Corbett.
William will be remembered for his kindness, dedication and devotion to his family, and passion for life. His legacy lives on in the memories of those who loved him.
Friends are invited to visit with Bill's family at Beecher & Bennett, 2300 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, on Friday January 24th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral procession will leave from the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul the VI Parish / Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamden. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the American Cancer Society may be made in Bill's name at: www.cancer.org.
